I have been enrolled at Freie Universität since October 2010.
Did you come through direct exchange or a program?
I am in a double-degree master’s program. The first year I was at Sciences Po in Paris, and for the second part of the program I am here at Freie Universität.
What are you studying?
Political science.
Where are you from, and where did you study at home?
I am from Sète, southwest of Montpellier. I completed my bachelor’s degree at Sciences Po in Paris.
Why did you choose Freie Universität?
I opted for the double master’s program at Freie Universität and Sciences Po because it is a very concentrated program. When I finish, I will have two master’s degrees
What do you especially like about Freie Universität?
I like it here very much. There is a good working and learning environment for students. The libraries are very good, and the lecturers are very helpful. Besides that, the program I am enrolled in permits me a great deal of flexibility in scheduling my classes.
What do you like less?
Very long discussions often take place in the seminars. Sometimes I would rather hear more from the instructors than so much from the other seminar participants.
Do you have any suggestions for someone new at Freie Universität?
I would recommend the Tandem Program. It is a very good opportunity to improve your language skills and to meet nice people.
Any suggestions for living in Berlin?
There are a lot of incredible things to see and discover here, and it is relatively inexpensive for students to live in Berlin. I would definitely like to stay on in Berlin even after I finish my degree.
