First Berlin Science Slam in Cairo!
What's a Science Slam?
Science Slams have become very popular in Germany to promote research and the career of young scientists. Adapted from the Poetry Slam, its cousin in literature, a Science Slam is a competition where research is presented in a creative, entertaining and understandable way. Each presenter has ten minutes to explain his research. The audience is the jury and votes on the performance of the candidates judging content, comprehensibility, and amusement of the presentations.
On the occasion of the German Week, Freie Universität Berlin Cairo Office in cooperation with Technische Universität Berlin organizes the first Berlin Science Slam in Cairo. Four doctoral candidates from different Graduate Schools in Berlin present their research. Visitors will support and judge the four candidates in the competition and will also have the opportunity to learn more about doctoral education in Berlin and the activities of FU and TU in Egypt.
Please find the invitation here.
