Research Support Service
Freie Universität Berlin's research division advises members of the university in matters of support for research, junior scholars and scientists, and business startups, as well as in procedures regarding the application for and administration of external funds. This division also offers services in the areas of patents and licenses, and in contract management.
Dual Career Support
Freie Universität Berlin is closely involved in the Berlin Dual Career Network. Its purpose is to find effective ways to assist the spouses and partners of faculty and staff to secure area employment.

Strengthening International Research
The Center for International Cooperation is responsible for strengthening and expanding the international research and academic network of Freie Universität. The Center supports the university’s institutional strategy of the International Network University by enhancing Freie Universität’s visibility and attractiveness worldwide – for instance through its cooperation with liaison offices in various countries. The CIC supports international cooperative research projects and programs at Freie Universität, both between institutions and between individual researchers, and promotes the mobility of excellent professors and junior scholars.
